Susan Cizmas MA., LPC
Susan Cizmas is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has been studying under Dr. Vasquez for the past several years in Emotional Transformation Therapy® (ETT®) . Susan provides a warm, gentle, direct approach, with encouragement toward healthy living and self worth. Susan does nudge an individual to look at serious issues in their life as well as the stressing personal responsibility. Being solution oriented, she takes a cognitive approach to dealing with daily life issues, while exploring the past for how it effects the now in a person's life.
Using ETT®, the effects of transformation can occur far more rapidly and can provide lasting results. Color has always been a magnet to Susan, and upon discovery of ETT® it was a natural fit. Utilizing color to heal the heart and souls of others has been an amazing phenomenon to be part of. Her experience in counseling is varied from working with families in crisis situations, to aiding individuals with achieving greater life satisfaction through goal setting.
She grew up in Michigan where she completed her undergraduate work with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Wayne State University. Before moving to Texas and continuing her education in counseling, Susan had the opportunity to provide intensive in-home family therapy for families in crisis with a program called Families First. She moved to the DFW area for new opportunities and warm sunny skies. Susan has guided individuals and their families on enrichment and life skills training for people with mental retardation and/or other mental health issues. Furthermore, as a middle school teacher Susan found that most of her time was spent integrating social and individual development skills into her curriculum to aid the students to better deal with their lives. After many rich life experiences, Susan decided it was time to put it all to use for the betterment of others, and obtained her Masters in Counseling from Amberton University to presure the work she loves.
