Mike Leffingwell, M.A, LPC
Mike Leffingwell is a Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing Emotional Transformation Therapy® (ETT®) Mike’s approach, built on a foundation of compassion, warmth and optimism, has a solutions-oriented focus that encourages individual growth and self-improvement. His philosophy on effective therapy is one of partnership between client and therapist that cultivates mutual trust, commitment, and active participation.
The positive impact of the innovative ETT® approach for the treatment of life’s most challenging issues and problems attracted Mike during his graduate studies in counseling. ETT’s use of light, color and strategic eye movement can promote rapid, long-lasting changes that facilitate a healthier, better functioning, and more productive life.
Mike has a rich professional background including teaching at the college and university-levels, business management and non-profit service. He holds an MA in Professional Counseling from Amberton University and an MA in Human Sciences from Our Lady of the Lake University. In addition to rich counseling experience gained in a number of diverse therapeutic settings, Mike is trained and experienced in conflict resolution and has served as a professional mediator for both the Dallas County Courts System and the Dallas County Juvenile Department.
Mike completed his undergraduate studies at Texas State University and served as District Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Dallas for five years where he oversaw district operations that included patient services, support groups and community education. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Tarrant County College, where he has taught since 2001. Mike is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
