Treating Psychotic States

There is significant scientific research that shows psychotic states can be successfully treated with certain forms of psychotherapy, with or without the use of medications. We differentiate different, odd, or peculiar from dangerous. Numerous conditions like brief reactive psychosis, schizo affective disorder, schizophrenia, and other conditions may exhibit features of hearing voices or other psychotic symptoms. While medication can limit some of these symptoms, they usually do not eliminate them. Of course, family or people nearest to this person must participate in the treatment process. While the use of hospitalization and medications are the accepted conventional approach to these conditions we have observed success without them.
